Chlorella, more commonly known as chlorophyll,
is the substance responsible for the green color in plants that
accomplishes photosynthesis. Chlorella has been used traditionally
to improve bad breath, as well as to reduce the odors of urine,
feces, and infected wounds. Chlorophyll has anti-inflammatory,
antioxidant, and wound-healing properties. In the past chlorella has
also been used to treat gastrointestinal problems, such as
constipation, and to stimulate blood cell formation in
anemia.

Supplements of chlorella, for those who do not eat a lot of dark
green vegetables, come as powder, capsules, tablets, and as
liquids.
