Calcium carbonate is a common supplement that individual used
when they are not receiving enough calcium in their daily diet.
Calcium is required by the body to develop and maintain healthy
bones, muscles, nervous system, and heart. Calcium carbonate also is
used as an antacid to relieve heartburn, acid indigestion, and
stomach upset. Calcium carbonate is available with or without a

Calcium carbonate is sol as
a hard tablet, chewable tablet, capsule or liquid to be taken
orally. The supplement is usually taken 3-4 times daily. Follow the
directions on your prescription or package label carefully, and ask
your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand.
Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed
by your doctor. When using this medicine as a dietary supplement,
take it with food or following
meals.
