Copper is a mineral that occurs in
both plant and animal tissue. It is essential (with iron)
for the formation of hemoglobin in red blood cells; and it is
important for protein and enzyme formation, as well as for the
nervous and reproductive systems, bones, hair, and pigmentation.
Copper allow the effective absorption & utilization of iron. Copper also helps oxidize Vitamin C, and works with Vitamin C to form Elastin, a chief component of the Elastin muscle fibers throughout the body. Copper also helps proper bone formation and maintenance.
A deficiency of copper may result in general weakness, impaired respiration, and skin sores.
