What do we know about CoEnzyme
Q-10?
- Required by our body to transmit carbohydrates, fats, and protein into adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the source of energy at cellular level.
- Found in every cell in your body
- Aids in detoxification
- Dramatically rolls back the aging process
- Sustains the immune system
- Potent antioxidant
- Effective in treating periodontal disease
- Lowers high blood pressure
- Helps prevent heart and circulatory disease
Our energy demands are constant. Not only do we require energy for physical activities, but we also need it for bodily functions such as digestion, absorption, utilization of nutrients and for proper gland function. Even the constant pumping of blood through the heart requires energy. All of our energy production begins in the individual cell.
CoEnzyme Q-10 is a totally natural substance found in every cell of the human body, but particularly in the heart and liver. It acts as a catalyst, sparking the manufacture of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which is the basic energy molecule of the cell. ATP becomes the fuel that runs the mitochondria, the most active part of the cell. If our levels of CoEnzyme Q-10 drop, so too does the conversion of food to ATP, and very soon the energy center of the cell runs low too. We may then become easily fatigued and our bodily systems will not work properly, leaving us more susceptible to disease.
Many studies have been carried out on the effects that CoEnzyme Q-10 has upon the immune system. Without this energy sparking catalyst, the many immunity-response systems throughout the body would not have the required power to fight off invading organisms before they gain a foothold. If the CoEnzyme Q-10 levels are boosted, so too is the immune response.
The fact is - as we age, our CoEnzyme Q-10 levels naturally drop. It is no wonder then that with decreased cellular energy, the immune systems of older people become weaker and more open to what we often term the "age-related illnesses".
The heart requires a vast and constant supply of energy to carry out its task of pumping blood throughout the human body. It is also one of most concentrated areas of the body for CoEnzyme Q-10.
Athletes who increase their intake of CoEnzyme Q-10 may find their energy levels boosted. An improvement in heart muscle function may also mean more stamina, and endurance is evident during demanding work outs.
